Craft beer capital of the Rockies. RiNo's brewery scene, LoDo's cocktail bars, and the mountain-town dive bars locals love.
Denver is America's craft beer capital by almost any measure โ more craft breweries per capita than any major American city, a culture of genuine beer appreciation rather than brand loyalty, and a bar scene that has evolved far beyond its cow-town origins into something genuinely world-class. The city is also home to one of America's most dramatic outdoor cocktail scenes, where rooftop bars deliver mountain views that no coastal city can replicate.
The two essential Denver bar crawl zones are RiNo (River North Arts District) and LoDo (Lower Downtown). They're different in character, equally excellent, and together they represent the complete Denver bar experience.
2920 Larimer Street
RiNo's best all-around brewery taproom. The Dear You (a Belgian farmhouse ale) is the flagship and one of Colorado's great craft beers. Industrial space beautifully designed with enormous windows flooding the taproom with natural light. Food program more substantial than most brewery taprooms.
2201 Arapahoe Street
One of Colorado's most established and respected craft breweries. The barrel-aging program is extraordinary โ the Barrel Aged Yeti (imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels) is among the best beers brewed in Colorado. Rough, unpolished character reflecting Denver's pre-gentrification bar culture.
2810 Larimer Street
RiNo's most neighborhood-feeling brewery โ small taproom with rotating experimental taps and community atmosphere. The sour and mixed-fermentation program is the best in RiNo. Feels like the locals' brewery rather than the visitors' brewery.
2875 Blake Street
The most technically precise brewery in Colorado โ specializes in traditional German lagers brewed with extraordinary attention to process. The Slow Pour Pils (a German Pilsner that takes 20 minutes to pour) is the signature beer. Pretzel and sausage program matches the beer quality.
1048 Pearl Street (Capitol Hill)
Massive outdoor bar complex expanded multiple times to accommodate consistent crowds. Outdoor space with string lights, fire pits, and Denver mountain backdrop is one of the city's great warm-weather drinking environments.
BarCrwlr's Denver bar crawl covers RiNo's brewery scene, LoDo's cocktail bars, and the insider knowledge of where to find the best craft beers and mountain views in the Rockies.
